Wild, rugged and expansive landscapes, farmlands encompassing every shade of green, braided glacial rivers stemming from the snowcapped mountains of the Southern Alps and hidden thermal reserves are just some of the features you will discover on our epic coast to coast cycle tour. Experience 8 days of challenging cycling and two spectacular train journeys, taking you from the East coast to the West Coast and back again.

A wild and wondrous journey including two of the world’s most scenic train journeys and a feast of dramatic landscapes; rugged coastlines, raging rivers, mountainous peaks, thermal reserves and native beech forests. Travel into the heart of the Southern Alps to the parklands of the Lewis Pass, where snowcapped mountains surround you and steam billows from natural hot spring pools. From the Lewis, journey along the Buller River to the breathtaking beauty of the untamed west coast, where you will cradle the wild coastline to Greymouth.

“We had a great time of our group cycle tour of the South Island. We felt that we were able to see so much in such a short period or time and the design of this tour is definantly what made that possible. It was also a great challenge and a huge achieviment for both of us to ride from one side of the island to the other.”

Kaikoura Boutique Hotel
This is one seriously enchanting boutique hotel on Kaikoura’s waterfront esplanade. Having undergone a total transformation in style and service following the November 2016 earthquake, the hotel has gone from great to magnificent. Everything has been sumptuously reinvented – “elegantly out-there” – paying particular attention to hospitality, lighting, and style, inside and out. All guest rooms are delightfully stylish and comfortable – our beds and bedding still the best. The dining room (serves breakfast for in-house guests and superb barista-made coffee all day) and the swanky outdoor areas have taken the hotel to another place in terms of hospitality, but it’s the addition of a champagne bar that has delivered magnificence.

Mt. Lyford Lodge
